Writing Blog
I do enjoy writing most of the time. I like writing because it allows me to get out thoughts, stories, visions, etc. I do not like writing academically mainly because it is on topics I do not particularly care for. And it is not based when what you like or what you want to put out there. I enjoy writing about topics I am passionate about like sports or animals. The other side to that would be creative writing which I do enjoy because it is a fantastic way to let your creative side out. I do enjoy writing, but I know my writing could improve. And that is what I hope this class can do for me. Writing for your intended audience is very important, you could write something great. But none of it will matter if it does not click with your audience. An example would be writing something too complex in a kids show. But once you know your audience you can use that to your advantage. By getting certain reactions from them and understanding what they want to see. Another example would be in an action movie the audience wants to see action and cool fight scenes. So, that is what you should try to do to please them by including that. And not a soap opera because that is not what they paid money for. I notice I struggle with being imaginative when I write. In that I give some of the same generic cilice's instead of putting my own twist on it. Or using metaphors, analogies, and similes. Instead of saying the football players are all giving it 110% out there. Instead, I could say the football players look like a gazelle after they were just chased by a lion. Gives much more life to the sentence while still getting the same point across.
